Direction:: Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given below it.

An old woman lived in Uttar Kashi at the foothill of the Himalayas. She had a bier farm hence she needed many maid servants to work on it. There being a lot of work on the farm the maid servants were made to rise with the dawn.
The old woman had no alarm clock but she had a cock who crowed at the crack of dawn. No sooner did the old woman hear the cock's crow than she woke up her servants at four O'clock in the morning. This went on day after day. Her maid servants were lazy and resented the fact that daily their sleep was disturbed. After a long discussion of their problem they came to the conclusion that the cock was the cause of the problem.
So, they decided to kill the cock. They felt that once the cock was eliminated, the old lady would sleep and so they would be left in peace, with nobody to disturb their sleep.

Accordingly, one night when the old woman was fast asleep, they caught hold of the cock and killed it. The next day their jubilation knew no bounds, for without the cock to wake her up the old lady slept till well after daybreak and so did her maid servants.
Realizing that something was amiss, the old woman went in search of the cock, but she could not find the bird anywhere on the farm. She was heartbroken at the loss of her faithful bird.
However, undeterred the next morning she resumed her task of awakening her maid servants. Initially she woke them at a reasonable hour out of force of habit. But as the day spent by she lost count of time and woke the servants as soon as she was awake which was generally between two O'clock to three O'clock in the morning.Sometimes when her insomnia was bad, she even woke them at twelve O'clock in the night. Alas! The maid servants realised their mistake. At least when the cock was alive they were regularly woken up a four O'clock in morning. They soon realized that wicked deeds brings their own punishment.
